1. CLASSIFICATION FOR VISA EXEMPTION AND MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Category A: Exempt from visa requirement
- Category B: Consular visa
- Category C: Consulted visa

- APPLICATIONS:
- Visa applications are accepted only via the Consular Section’s email address: konsulatde@minex.gob.gt
- You will only be assisted in person if you have an appointment.

- The applicant must send the following scanned requirements to the email address: konsulatde@minex.gob.gt
IMPORTANT:
- Sending the documentation via this method does not imply visa authorization.
- The applicant is kindly requested to send ALL documents with the form COMPLETELY filled out.
- Please send your email with the subject line ‘Tourist Visa’ and ensure that ALL documents are attached in the same email and not in separate emails.
3. REQUIREMENTS
- Full Name
- Nationality
- Mobile phone number
- Completed visa application form (Download here)
- Copy of the main page of a valid passport, with a minimum validity of 6 months.
- Copy of valid residence card (include a copy of US visa if you have one).
- Copy of permanent employment contract.
- Copy of bank statements for the last three months.
- Copy of the last three pay stubs.
- Flight itinerary reservation or copy of a round-trip ticket that does not exceed the permitted tourist visa period of 90 days.
- If traveling for tourism: Indicate the places you plan to visit and hotel reservations. – If staying with an individual: An invitation letter from the person who invited you, which must provide their DPI number, contact details, address, and phone number.
- If a third party will cover your expenses and support during the trip, you must present a signed letter from that person, identifying them and confirming they will be responsible for the travel expenses, in addition to a copy of their employment contract and a copy of their last three pay stubs.
- To apply for a visa, requirements must be sent at least 30 days prior to the trip.
- We are not responsible for files sent outside of this timeframe.
4. DOCUMENTATION VERIFICATION:
Once the information is sent, received, and verified, you will receive a message from the Consular Section indicating if:
- a. You need to provide additional information
- b. You can coordinate an appointment (YOU WILL BE ABLE TO BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT VIA THIS CHANNEL)
- c. The application has been denied.
- The process is personal, and the applicant must appear in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Guatemala in Berlin.
5. PRESENT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION:
- 2 passport-sized photographs.
- Original passport (minimum 6 months validity).
- Two copies of the complete file, in which you must present updated pay stubs and bank statements as of the date of the appointment.
- The cost of the visa will depend on the type of visa you wish to apply for; you must make a deposit to the bank account number of the Embassy of Guatemala in Germany, which will be provided via email.
- Copies of the documents requested in requirement number 9, depending on the reason for your trip to Guatemala.

If you are traveling for tourist purposes, please indicate the places you intend to visit and provide your hotel reservations.
